Rooted in compassion. Grounded in ancient wisdom.

Committed to your healing.

For over 40 years, I’ve helped people find real, lasting healing — physically, emotionally, and energetically.

As a Doctor of Oriental Medicine, I bring together the time-tested wisdom of Chinese Medicine and the diagnostic precision of European Biological Medicine to help clients uncover the root causes of their symptoms and reclaim their vitality.

But beyond the credentials and techniques, my true calling is to walk beside people on their healing journey — with deep compassion, honest insight, and genuine partnership.

How My Path Began

In the early 1970s, I discovered the healing power of food — a concept that changed my life. This spark led me to explore Ayurvedic, Naturopathic, and Chinese Medicine. A neck injury later opened the door to acupuncture, and I knew I had found my path.

I earned my Doctor of Oriental Medicine degree from Southwest Acupuncture College in Santa Fe in 1986, where I trained in acupuncture, Chinese herbology, therapeutic exercises, and healing nutrition. I pursued advanced study in Chinese gynecology, pediatrics, and herbology under masters like Dr. Ted Kaptchuk and Dr. Bob Flaws. I am also trained and certified in Acupuncture Oncology.

Expanding the Lens: Biological Medicine

In 2000, I began an intensive study of European Biological Medicine with Dr. Thomas Rau of the renowned Paracelsus Clinic in Switzerland. This approach expanded my understanding of health and disease, emphasizing the body’s internal terrain, chronic infections, detoxification, and even the connection between oral health and systemic illness.

Through this integrative lens, I now offer a unique blend of tools — including live blood cell analysis, herbal protocols, acupuncture, and nutritional guidance — designed to support deep, root-level healing.

Conditions I Work With Often

  • Digestive disorders and chronic infections

  • Menstrual and menopausal imbalances

"Every body is different. My job is to listen deeply, uncover the patterns behind your symptoms, and help your body do what it’s naturally designed to do: heal."

Let’s Begin Your Healing Journey

FAQs

Essential Answers for Your Holistic Health Queries with Cholena Erickson

What can acupuncture help with?

Acupuncture can support a wide range of chronic and acute conditions — from fatigue, pain, and digestive issues to hormonal imbalances, anxiety, and sleep disturbances. It works by restoring balance and flow within the body’s energy systems, helping you heal from the inside out.

Does acupuncture hurt?

Most people are surprised by how gentle acupuncture feels. The needles are hair-thin, and many clients find treatments relaxing or even meditative. If you're nervous, that’s completely normal — we’ll go at your pace and make sure you feel safe and comfortable every step of the way.

How many sessions are typically needed?

The number of sessions varies, typically between 6-12, depending on the individual's condition.

How do I know which treatment plan is right for me?

That’s exactly what our first conversation is for. We’ll talk about your health history, current symptoms, and what you’re hoping to feel. From there, I’ll recommend a customized plan — whether that’s a single session, a deeper healing package, or supportive herbal therapy. You’ll never be pressured, just supported.

What is live blood cell analysis, and why do you use it?

Live blood cell analysis is a technique that allows me to look at a drop of your blood under a microscope in real time. It helps identify signs of inflammation, chemical plaque, lymphatic congestion, digestive imbalances, and immune stress — offering valuable insight into the root causes of your symptoms. It’s an empowering tool to guide your healing plan.

How does herbal therapy work?

Herbal medicine supports the body’s natural ability to heal by addressing underlying imbalances. Each formula is tailored specifically to your symptoms, constitution, and goals. Herbs are chosen to work synergistically — and they’re a beautiful complement to acupuncture for deeper, sustained results.

What is Marodyne LiV, and can I try it in your office?

Marodyne LiV is a NASA-developed, low-intensity vibration (LiV) device designed to improve bone density, circulation, and muscle strength. It’s FDA-registered and safe for daily home use. While I don’t offer in-office sessions, I do provide guidance and sales for those interested in using Marodyne as part of their wellness routine.

Is BEMER safe?

Yes — BEMER is non-invasive, pain-free, and registered as a Class II medical device. It’s safe for most people, though it may not be recommended for those with certain medical implants or conditions. Always consult a practitioner first.
